A couple of weeks ago we were the host of the Chamber of Commerce event “Business After Hours”. We had about 40 members come to the shop to enjoy some hors d’hoeuvre, drinks and networking. One of the lovely people I met included Susan Vacheresse, a Remax real estate agent. She gave me some great information on the current housing market and advice on buying our first home. Seeing as I’m not the only bride looking into getting my own home soon, I thought I’d share her comments with everyone. Here’s what she had to say!

I love going out and trying new restaurants but as of a couple months ago, I had never even been to Westboro to try the yummy food or go shopping there! Since then, I’ve been to 3 restaurants in the area (still haven’t shopped though!) so I thought I’d give a bit of a review on them in case you’re looking to eat in the area. I think I will review other restaurants in the future around Ottawa since I tend to go to places based on recommendations. What do you guys think? I know it’s not wedding-related but I always enjoy going to a great place to eat! On with the reviews!

A couple months ago I wrote a blog post entitled “Ageism in the Floral Industry” where I discussed the issues I have as a young professional in the industry. In light of this situation, I wrote to the editor of Canadian Florist Magazine to see if the magazine has mentionned any issue of this in the past. She wrote me back indicating that they had not and would love to hear my views on the issue for their Point of View article for their November issue. If you’ve ever seen me before you’d know that I don’t wear a lot of makeup. I do however wear some on a daily basis and have since probably grade 8. I’m not too sure exactly why, I just love different colours of eyeshadow and being able to be a bit creative in my morning routine. My makeup routine lasts about 5 minutes where I put on a couple shades of eyeshadow, mascara and lip gloss.
