Although the recent weather is quite miserable, this time of year is still beautiful for weddings! You don’t have to stick to the traditional red and green, you can have your decor in all white, use a mix of white and green or white and red. Having a winter wedding doesn’t really restrict you in anyway, you can still have all the things you want. When it comes to flowers, the only thing you must be careful of is protecting them from the cold since it will cause them to turn black and wilt (which of course you don’t want happening on your day!). DIY: Decorating Your Mantel

November 29, 2010 -No Comments -Decor, Floral Tips, Seasonal Flowers

In the spirit of Christmas fast approaching and everyone starting their decorating soon I thought I would do a How To on decorating a fireplace mantel. Many people come into the shop and say they don’t know the first thing about decorating and just don’t have the eye for it. Honestly, I don’t see myself as a Martha Stewart either but I believe that a) you don’t need to break the budget to get nice decor and b) you can certainly make use of the things you already have with a bit of creativity. Creativity doesn’t always come to the top of our heads, so look to decorating magazines and store displays for inspiration. Just last week I got my issue of Style at Home and got tons of Christmas inspiration!

Trillium on ‘A’ Morning

Last Wednesday, October 13th we appeared on ‘A’ Morning as part of their “Live Where You Live” Kanata segment. In case you missed it, you can watch the video on their YouTube Channel! You may notice my Halloween wreath from this post on the table! It was so cold that morning, I don’t know why they decided to do all these segments in October! I did enter their trip to Mexico contest though so cross your fingers for me that I may win a honeymoon!! We also had a commercial running the whole day which was so much fun to shoot.
